Mohammed Bin Salman Nonprofit City “Misk City” was officially announced by HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in November 2021, marking the inception of the world's first nonprofit city. Misk City is the host of the Mohammed bin Salman Foundation "Misk," dedicated to empowering youth in supporting innovation, entrepreneurship and qualifying future leaders. Additionally, Misk City will host the subsidiaries of Misk Foundation that support science, technology, and arts.
Misk City is designed around 6 main experience representing living, education, innovation, connection, work, and entertainment, and is also a platform for several local and international institutions supporting digital media, creative arts, and emerging technologies. This strategic initiative is designed to provide an environment where creativity and technological advancements can thrive.
Furthermore, Misk City offers a mixed-use range of facilities while committing to applying the highest sustainability standards and green building in the city’s construction. The city has allocated nearly 43% of its area for open spaces that seamlessly blend business offices, educational institutions, arts and cultural spaces, sports parks, and entertainment venues.
This integrated approach extends to include residential areas and hotels, creating a dynamic living environment that fosters innovation and creativity and meets the diverse needs of the city’s residents and visitors.
The journey at Misk City wasn't an entirely fresh start, it was due to the successful legacy of Misk Foundation spanning 13 years. It's worth noting that Misk City plays a pivotal role in enabling Misk Foundation and its subsidiaries to achieve their goals in empowering the youth through diverse programs, initiatives, incubation, workshops, events, and extensive networking, fostering a legacy of impact and growth.
